Angkor Wat was built in the first half of the twelfth century by the Khmer king Suryavarman II. It was originally a Hindu state temple dedicated to Vishnu, and its architecture combines a temple-mountain layout with monumental bas-reliefs in its galleries. As religious traditions evolved, Buddhist images were gradually added to the temple. In the sixteenth century, it became a regional Buddhist pilgrimage center, and the central sanctuary was converted into a Buddhist space. Theravada Buddhist worship has continued since then. The temple’s silhouette became a symbol on Cambodia’s national flag, and in 1992 it was inscribed on the World Heritage List as part of the Angkor site.吴哥窟由高棉国王苏利耶跋摩二世于十二世纪上半叶兴建，最初是供奉毗湿奴的印度教国家寺庙，建筑融合寺山布局与宏大的回廊浮雕。随着宗教传统演变，寺内逐渐增设佛像；十六世纪成为区域性的佛教朝圣中心，中央圣殿也改造为佛教空间。此后南传佛教礼拜延续，寺庙轮廓成为柬埔寨国旗上的象征，并于一九九二年随吴哥遗址列入世界遗产。

• Wear clothing that covers the shoulders and knees. When entering the central sanctuary of Phnom Bakheng, note that hats must be removed and follow the dress requirements on site.穿着遮住肩膀与膝盖的衣物；进入巴肯中央圣殿须注意脱帽，遵从现场着装要求。
• Do not touch the bas-reliefs or climb or sit on fragile stone structures. Keep quiet, and ask permission before photographing monks or local residents.不要触摸浮雕或攀坐脆弱石构，保持安静；拍摄僧人和当地居民前先征得同意。
• Phnom Bakheng is closed on Buddhist holy days. Children under twelve and pregnant women are not permitted to climb to the top. Follow on-site opening and safety instructions.巴肯圣殿在佛教圣日关闭，十二岁以下儿童及孕妇不获准登顶；遵循现场开放及安全指示。
