Construction of the surviving complex at Bulguksa began during the Unified Silla period. Kim Daeseong oversaw the project in 751, and the royal court completed it in 774. Designed around the idea of the Buddhist Pure Land, the stone stairways, stone bridges, Dabotap Pagoda, and Seokgatap Pagoda demonstrate eighth-century Silla stoneworking skills. Wars in the late sixteenth century led to the burning of the wooden temple halls; they were rebuilt several times afterward, and the temple was also restored in the twentieth century. In 1995, Bulguksa and nearby Seokguram Grotto were jointly inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Today, the temple remains a Buddhist temple of Korea’s Jogye Order.佛国寺现存建筑群的营建始于统一新罗时期，金大城于751年主持工程，774年由王室完成。寺院以佛国净土为设计理念，石台阶、石桥与多宝塔、释迦塔展示八世纪新罗石工技艺。十六世纪末战乱使木构殿宇遭焚，此后多次重建，二十世纪又经修复。1995年，佛国寺与附近石窟庵共同列入联合国教科文组织世界遗产名录；今天仍是韩国曹溪宗的佛教寺院。

• Dress modestly. A sleeved top is recommended; avoid sleeveless or low-cut clothing. For a temple stay, prepare socks and shoes that are easy to take off and put on, as required by the program.穿着端庄，宜穿有袖上衣，避免无袖或低领服装；参加寺院住宿时按项目要求准备袜子与便于穿脱的鞋。
• If permitted to enter a worship hall, remove your shoes and arrange them neatly, and use the side entrance as directed on site. Open and close doors quietly, and do not disturb people who are worshipping.获准进入佛殿时先脱鞋并摆整齐，依现场指引使用侧门；轻声开关门，不打扰礼佛者。
• Keep quiet within the temple and do not block the central aisle of a worship hall. If you join a circumambulation as an act of worship, walk clockwise.在寺内保持安静，不占用佛殿中央通道；若参与绕塔礼佛，应按顺时针方向行走。
